Join The Great Koala Count!

It’s on again, get outdoors with the rest of Australia and join in the annual Great Koala Count between the 7th and 17th November! The Count is run by the NSW National Parks Association and you can download the smart phone Biotag app from their site here, or report your sighting online.

Research and conservation projects like ours right across the country can access the data from the Great Koala Count to inform our work. But don’t forget, after the Great Koala Count finishes on November 17th if you are in the Blue Mountains region please still report your sightings to us! If you don’t want the general public to know where the koala was, for example if it was in your backyard and you don’t want a tourist crowd there, our online mapper allows you to hide or obscure the location so the information will help with koala conservation but is not accessible to everyone.
