Research – Alice was a Masters Degree student at the University of Sydney who undertook her independent research project, as part of her degree, with Science for Wildlife’s Koala Project. Alice worked on community engagement and ran educational workshops to help us build support for the project both in the local area and in Sydney. The more eyes we have out there looking for koalas the better, as we have a huge area to cover to map out koala distribution in the Blue Mountains. As part of her study Alice evaluated what sort of engagement methods work best, and what we need to do to reach more people and inspire more support for conservation. Alice is also a GIS whiz and based on our result so far she helped to map out likely koala habitats for further surveys.
