Carl was formerly Director of Tourism and Partnerships for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (2008 to 2014). He is now a consultant in nature and cultural tourism, where he delivers projects that build and strengthen community engagement and encourage more people to experience and connect with nature. He has extensive experience in online and digital initiatives, marketing and education programs, in particular focusing on building long-term support for conservation. Previously, Carl worked in the private sector in business advisory and tourism, and with the United Nations (UN) in various roles. While working for the UN, Carl developed and delivered community and education programs and later was appointed as the Executive Director of Olympic Aid, which was a joint program of the UN and the International Olympic Committee. Olympic Aid raised funds for and delivered programs to promote physiological development and well-being for children living in situations of disadvantage. Carl has qualifications in accounting and finance, marketing and international relations.
